First, grants are not free money, despite advertisements and claims to the contrary. Grants are offered for a specific purpose or project. So, if you’re looking for money that you can spend anyway at anytime you want, then play the lottery.
Second, applying for a grant in many respects is no different than applying for a job, only the terms and conditions are different.
Third, grants are legally binding contracts. If you are unable or unwilling to perform or meet all of the conditions specified in a grant, then don’t apply.
Fourth, grants are a competition. Remember, you are not the only person or agency applying for a specific grant.
Finally, grants are a business process; a means to provide a service or product that otherwise would be unfulfilled.
Industrial Documents has been writing and editing grant proposals for over twenty years, helping individuals and small businesses navigate through the grant process. Contact us today to see how we can help you with your grant applications.
